     Jaydee Plumtree was born and brought up in a tiny Northwest Georgia hamlet. While working as a clerk in a chain drug store, he met and immediately fell in love with Heidi, a ravishinhly beautiful pharmacy extern. Due to unusual circumstances, Heidi became pregnant on their first date.

     Just days before she was due to give birth, she was brutally murdered, but miraculously their baby boy survived. Jaydee suddenly found himself totally responsible for his child. Faced with nearly impossible odds including his barely adequate salary, his dysfunctional family, and the hostile environment of his small backwoods home town, Jaydee dedicated himself to raising his son. Through it all, he had to contend with episodes  flagrant drug abuse, depraved criminal acts, sexual misconduct, corrupt and  greedy business practices, and racial and religious bigotry.

     However, Jaydee experienced a life changing epiphany that enabled him to persevere in his unrelenting desire to keep his promise to Heidi...a promise to keep.

     A horrific explosion occurred, and businessman Jaydee Plumtree found himself near the scene 0f a brutal attempt by a secret consortium to intimidate two innocent people. Seeking to take advantage of his heroism, local officials prevailed upon him to run for high political office.

     Against a backdrop of a sinister plot to undermine national security involving the powerful boss of his local party, Jaydee found himself in the precarious situation of dealing with a scandalous distraction. Addionally, he was burdened with a ruthless, hard-driving governor determined to be president, and an unscrupulous campaign manager who would stop at nothing to win an election.

      EXERPT FROM "DECISION"

 

 

     The early morning sunlight sneaked through the slight separation of the dark drapes in the hotel room. Quickly, he became aware that he was in a Savannah hotel room, the Sheraton to be exact near the city's historic district. He was there attending a three day workshop and strategy session for Georgia Democratic candidates in the upcoming off year election. Even though the meetings were concluded, and he planned to be home that evening, there were too many social invitations that he as an aspiring elected official could not turn down. After all, how could he refuse requests by some of the most important political figures in the state to join them for dinner followed by drinks at one of the popular bars along River Street? Despite being the first time he was away overnight from his wife, reluctantly he had no choice but to call and tell her that he had to spend another night in Savannah and drive home the next morning.

     After a few seconds, the recollection of the previous night's elaborate dinner at the Chart House and the bar hopping alongside the river came to his mind. Then as the fog continued to clear from his mind, he realized that there was a woman sleeping in his bed. And she was not his wife!

     When he gazed closer to her, his fear was confirmed. He was in bed with Shelley Brewster, the hard driving, overly ambitious, and in the minds of some, the ruthless governor of Georgia  who was detemined to become the country's first woman president by whatever means necessary......
